Foundations of Structural Integration is the first step into training in the art of Structural Integration. It is a comprehensive and integrative approach to anatomy and physiology, introducing the basic elements of healing touch, and begins the internal process of transformation to become a competent practitioner of SI. Foundations of Structural Integration prepares the student for the information presented in both the Auditing and Practitioning phases of the Basic class.
Foundations of Structural Integration focuses on Anatomy and Physiology, as understood through the lens of Structural Integration. Students will be sent a reading list during the application process, and independent home study before class is encouraged.
Students learn the basic techniques of therapeutic touch, and how to give a session of bodywork. Various modalities will be discussed and demonstrated, and specific focus will be put on the therapeutic relationship, ethical considerations, and the business of developing a practice.
At the Crestone College of Structural Integration, we place a strong emphasis on the personal growth of the Practitioner, and in Foundations of Structural Integration, students are introduced to the practices of meditation, chi kung, and pre & perinatal psychology. These practices can be deepened over time and can be a springboard to further explorations in other practices.
